Hi Geeky boy. My boy wants a hamster too. Well, actually, he wants mice but he'd love a hamster. Sadly, we have a cat and that would be just tragic. But Pseudonymous Kid suggests as names possibly "Mr. Shirt Hanger" or "Mr. Helper Out."
I had a rat once, and her name was "Chastity." I am a big advocate of giving small pets names that you really like but that no person would ever actually use as a name.
When we had a hamster, his name was Squeaky Brown. He was a good hamster, and his name suited him. We got "Squeaky" from his voice and "Brown" from his fur. What does your hamster look like?
We have guinea pigs named Chocolate and Licorice. But this has resulted in a ban on eating Chocolate or Licorice in our house, in case in might hurt the guineas' feelings, so I am not sure I would recommend this route.
Our hamsters were named Mr. Rogers and Minnie (I think). The names were chosen by my daughter (elswhere), and they lived in her room when she was in elementary school.

I think you should name him Dan. Hamster Dan.
I named my hamster Piglet. But that's because it was small, pink, and very very nervous.
There are never too many Trevors. This one would be Hamsterical Trevor :)
Else, I like simple names like Frank or Eddie.
Bob. Name it Bob. Even if it's a girl.

Corrections: I think one of them was named Minnie. I know one of them was named Mr. Rogers. And they lived in a habitrail in elswhere's room.
